Even when I was a swinging single I wasn't big on clubbing.
The crowds, the pounding music, the crowds, the over-priced drinks - I just didn't enjoy it.
And the crowds. Did I mention how irritating I find crowds?
So it felt a little surreal last Sunday when my three-year-old and I headed to the heart of Toronto's club district and braved a massive line-up to meet some friends and gain entry to one of the biggest and hottest clubs in the city for the Bunch Family Dance Party.
It was packed to the rafters with hipsters and their hipster offspring sipping cocktails and mocktails. The three dance floors were jammed and the video and light shows and go-go dancers were undeniably cool.
There were eccentric characters roaming the joint...
And stylin' kids showing off the latest dance moves...
And of course there was this one guy who was sooooo cute I couldn't stop staring at him.
And the best part?
I actually ended up going home with him.
Could you die? I think it might really be love this time...
Turns out clubbing is a lot more fun than I remember it.

Too funny!
Last week I picked up my son from his 5th grade after school party in the gym (when did these things start just randomly happening? Why didn't they happen when I was in school?!?), and all of the kids were doing the Cotton Eye Joe. I watched them as they did the Macarena next - 50 kids in rows, doing the Macarena beautifully. Who teaches kids the Macarena?
So I scroll down on your post expecting to see a pile of preschoolers with hands on hips and the backs of their heads. What a relief to find them being preschoolers!
LOVE IT!
I'm so sad I missed out on all the fun. I sent my friend and she said it was a blast!
G is adorable in those pics... we really do have to get together again soon.
That story is too cute! Is that the Yo Gabba Gabba "thing"?
He's adorable. :)
I was never too fond of clubbing either, for the reasons you've mentioned, and especially the crowds.
oh you are killing me with the cute!
if i went to a club and any yo gabba gabba character was there I would either need a LOT to drink or some sort of blunt weapon.
I kind of wanted to go to this, but, well... first, my sister's bday party was scheduled for then, and then she moved that, only to have a classmate invite Pumpkinpie to his bday party that afternoon, and then she missed that anyhow for another round of fever. Was not to be. It looks awesome, though, so I'm hoping I'll make one!
OH my 3 year old would have loved this! Your date is a cutie, lucky you!
HOW adorable! :) Looks like so much fun...even if the scary Yo Gaba Gaba guy was there. lol Robee... I think... Creepy.

What a cute idea!!
Handsomest dude on the dance floor.
We had a ton of fun, but I always was a club kid.
But did he buy you a drink? ;)
I don't think you could have chosen any better. He's adorable.
How CUTE is your date!
I was never a good clubber!
Good for you for reinventing it...
Oh I miss clubbing! :) This looks fun!
I think I could learn to like clubbing if it was all like this. I'm only 23 and I've never really been a fan of clubbing. In fact, I can count on one hand the number of times I've been.
Oh you brought a cute one home! ;)
So sorry I missed it; didn't think I'd be in any state to join you guys ...but I bet the kids would have LOVED it and the girlie would have helped fill Graham's dance card.
Glad that the clubbing was a hoot!
