I celebrated the glorious weather this past weekend at my parent's house on the lake where I went swimming for the first time this summer.
And before I did, I performed the annual check that has become my own time-honored summertime ritual, as much a part of the season as grilled steaks and black fly bites.
I performed the bikini check.
Check out the rest of my Shooting For Hip column over at Better Than A PlayDate. I even posted a picture - honest to blog!

I wish I had a mouse-button so that you could hear how hard I clicked it to get over to the link.

I think I missed the FLAWS!! lol you are gorgeous. Keep wearing that bikini!
You look great!
I hate having to do the bikini check. I swear I am SO paranoid about it!!!
You stink, you look awesome!!!
now i'm intrigued... gotta head over.
Nice job - you look fab in your bikini mama!!!
you look fabulous hun
You look fantastic! And way to go, wearing that bikini and feeling confident about it. Maybe I had get my big ole butt back into one. It's not really that big, and I could pull it off. You might have inspired me.
i think you look beautiful!! you should be proud to be in a bikini!
You look great! There's no reason you shouldn't wear one, good for you!
You are a rockstar for embracing the body you have inside of obsessing over its flaws (and I certainly can't see any!!). Keep wearing that bikini and embracing your awesome body image. More women (including myself) could learn from you.
Ugh.. I can't type today. "Inside" should be "instead." Sorry!
WOOHOO!!!! Good job!!!! Keep on 'stuffing'!!! ...as if?!?! ;)
After I had my daughter I had no idea what a bikini even was...sad huh?
I salute your bravery! I, too, wear a bikini - though with some more arse coverage than I had at 18!
I just posted about bikini wearing too. I feel like my body looks better in a bikini too, if only the stretch marks weren't there :)
Thanks for this reminder. I mean, when I'm 60 I'm gonna look back at this 30-something body and think it was so awesome.
I need to appreciate it a bit more . . . and not with chocolate chip mint ice cream, either.
I just had to buy a new swimsuit this week. It's a humbling experience no matter what size you where.
I stick to my beloved one piece! ;)
Honest to blog is an excellent phrase. I must incorporate it into my everyday vocabulary.
YOU LOOK GREAT..
