Sometimes I think one of the hardest things about being a mom is resisting the siren call of stereotypical mom clothes.
And by stereotypical mom clothes, I mean clothing that doesn't take too much effort, clothing that celebrates comfort over style and function over form, and clothing that, if I am truly honest with myself, I would not have been caught dead wearing prior to giving birth.
I'm not trying to be a smart-ass: it really is hard.
We moms are tired and rushed a lot of the time. Time and money are tight, but our bodies? Not so much (not mine anyway).
And I think that drinking in the silky skin and shiny hair of our children - our beautiful children - goes a long way towards satisfying our inherent need to feel the presence of beauty in our lives.
And that's not necessarily a good thing.

I try not to look too Mommy-ish... But I'm afraid I often do look very, very Mommy-ish... Right now, for example. I'm wearing jeans and an old t-shirt. Not exactly the height of style and grace. At least they're boot cut jeans, not tapered high rise mom jeans with front-butt.
It is hard. Sometimes I look in my closet and think, "What WAS I thinking??" LOL

It's either mom clothes or teen clothes. Not much in between, though I get lucky sometimes :-)
Good list! I've recently discovered Title Nine. They have a lot of clothes for athletes, but also very comfortable and practical and stylish clothes that I feel good in. They have great sales, which is good because some of there stuff is pretty pricey for my mom budget.
yeah-when I have extra cash (which I NEVER do) i use it on them. always. what is wrong with me? oh well...

I wear a pair of jeans and a tee shirt, hoodie, or sweatshirt most days. I'm fine with it. As long as the jeans look hot it is a-okay. ;)
Jeans & t-shirts are the "Mom uniform"? Aren't they?...
If I ever the "mom jeans" I fully expect all my friends to stop talking to me!
I have found for me that it isn't so much about the clothes. As long as I have a sassy hair cut and good hair product I am happy. Clothes, I can deal with t-shirts and jeans, just not mom-jeans.
(Gulp) I have CROCS but they are these cute Mary Jane style with two straps, no full foot coverage. I love them, most people don't know they are CROCS.
Other than that, I think I pass, as in not in 'the Mommy Zone'.

My husband saw that SNL skit and madde me promise I would never buy jeans with an elastic waist :)

Ummm...since I am standing here in my Husbands boxer shorts and a huge sweatshirt...I do not qualify to comment on clothing;)
I'm afraid to look. My wardrobe is lacking as of late...I think I wore the same 4 shirts all last fall. ahhhh!
I think you need to take me on a shopping spree!
I am working on losing the Mom look. It is difficult because I work from home and I only go to the grocery store or day care. Hardly times for looking my best.
