Graham's latest haircut was a bit of a revelation for us both.
It involved none of the shenanigans of the past. He had trepidations, but the promise of a lollipop and lunch at Chez Ronald's (hey, he redeemed himself!) kept the tears at bay...
As the stylist clipped away and no tears were forthcoming, I realized that what I was witnessing no longer seemed like a rite of passage anymore: it was just a haircut - one of a handful my son had already received and one of dozens, maybe hundreds, he is likely to have in the future.
But Graham? I think he had a different revelation. And I think it was more along the lines of...
"Damn mama, I look goooood!"

Im just about to take my 18 month old for his 3rd haircut today. We go ok for the first 5 minutes and then I have to hold him down!
That boy has awesome hair! I am a tad bit envious :-)
Clearly, he knows what he is talking about.
Even on a child, the haircut can make you look older or younger--a boy is emerging from where a toddler once stood!
The cut makes his eyes really stand out. Handsome boy!
Hahaha I love the last photo. He IS admiring himself! Cute.
Right he is... Look at those beautiful eyes!
He does indeed look good. My oldest always looked really soothed at the hairdressers, and not just because of the lollipop bribe at the end of it!
Does it ever freak you out that he looks like such a perfect smoosh of the two of you?
and he would be absolutely correct to say so!!
If it is at all possible....he gets cuter every day! So grown up...wow.
TB HATES to have his hair cut...
we had to buy a trimmer ourselves and threaten to cut TIO's (his stuffed lion... the one teddy thing he still has since he was a baby) is he didn;t let us cut his hair! lol!
nice haircut! It goes well on him!
My daughter totally loves being pampered at the salon! My boy though, I hold him down, snip snip and hope for the best!
That last picture is so priceless!
What urbanvox neglects to mention is that I resorted to buying a set of hairclippers and turning TB into a skinhead just to get the hair out of his eyes. He's still not a big fan of haircuts, but at least we can get it done without holding him down now!
I love the look on his face in the last one. That's alot of hair!!!!! :)
He looks so cute!

He looks so much more like dad with his hair short. Very cute little boy regardless of his haircut.
He has such great hair! WOW!
I love that last picture...
I remember the haircut where we went from big deal to "eh, whatever" and it was FREAKING GREAT becuase prior to that, gavin screamed bloody murder for every second of the haircut. Somuchso, that I had to buzz it all off myself for two years to spare any hairdresser the agony. It was HELL.
KEEP BELIEVING
Very cute!
Comes and goes... My 14 year old son is now in a peer-pressure let-it-be phase. (Who knew the '70s were back?) My 8 yr old son loves the attention and gets haircuts as often as he can. My daughter... well, girls are girls...
Hilarious. He does look good! :)
That is awesome! He looks so cute. :)
So cute!! Those big eyes are just beautiful!
Yes...he does look good! ;) What a cutie.
Wow he looks like he aged a year in 3 photos. it is amazing how much older a child looks after a good hair cut.
Chez Ronald's....love it!
Looks good! I like how they left some length on the top...
I cut my boys' hair myself. I use clippers... It's pretty much just short when I'm done. Not too much with they style or anything...
He has great hair! What a cutie. :)
Oh - he's so gorgeous! I remember the visit that the crying stopped for my oldest - he hated getting haircuts. So for months I just let it grow and grow and grow and never cut it. When it hit his shoulders I had to cave and make him an appointment :-)
He's so cute!
thanks for this - it's been a rough day and seeing these pics made me smile- I wasn't sure it was even possible at the moment! Your boy is adorable!
That last expression is a Zoolander pose if I ever saw one. The boy knows he's got it. "Will strut the catwalk for Happy Meals"
He looks great!
Aw. That final picture - he's going to be a heartbreaker!
We eat at McDonalds a GROSS amount. They have several gluten-free options, you see.
Ahhhhhhhhhh!!! What a cutie! Watch out! All those other moms are going to have to keep their daughters at bay! Graham's a little heartbreaker in the making! Gosh! He's already a heartbreaker! ;) XO
He looks seriously handsome!
I love the do!
And he does look good! He's such a handsome boy, with really great hair!
HE LOOKS LIKE A MAN NOW! Awwww! I love it!
That boy has got class - knows how to work it.
Wow, he has some great hair. My son is always conned now with a lollipop. They really do wonders...
