Move on over Mrs.Cleaver

I am a cliche.

There have been so many warning signs since Graham's birth - the working mom guilt, the typical middle-aged acquiescence to authority, the worrying about every little thing - but now it's official.

The proof? Last week, as a result of the aforementioned working mom guilt, I felt compelled to indulge in what is perhaps the most shopworn domestic cliche ever: the baking of the chocolate chip cookies.

Cousin Cailey came along for the ride...

And did her best to try and minimize shrinkage...

With mixed results.

If only I had known that becoming a cliche involved such delicious cuteness, I would have done it sooner.

  2. Good heavens, Graham looks just like you. He is certainly his own little person but you are so all over him. His eyes, your eyes, his nose, your nose, his silhouette, it is all you.

    It is all you.

God Love Ya Woman. That is just too adorable.

  3. Awesome photos.

Funny what we do to relieve the guilt.

    I played barbies today.

Reluctantly, I might add. But I played.

  4. Everyone knows that the dough tastes better than the cookies themselves: Smart boy you have there!

  5. I would say that I've baked about 200 batches of chocolate chip cookies since I had kids. Now the kids just bake them themselves.

We have made so many cookies. My butt is proof of all of my kid's hard work. LOL!

  25. Axel's not even old enough to enjoy the cookies yet, and I still use him as a reason to bake. Not that I really need a reason to make anything with chocolate in it.
