Summertime and the dressing is easy...

Oh how I love sun dress season.

Maybe I'm not a sexy, young Bohemian anymore but there's something about breezy, cotton sun dresses that make me long for the days when a tan, a loose bun and a yard or two of colorful fabric was all I needed to take me from an afternoon at the lake to an evening at the club.

Funky, colorful sun dresses are everywhere this year and after the winter we just endured, we deserve a trip down memory lane.

I've already snapped up three (including the one at left for 24.99 at Urban Planet) and as much as I'm enjoying them I've realized that nothing is quite the same the second (or 20th) time around.

Let me tell you what I've learned...
Click on over to my Shooting for Hip column at Better Than A Playdate to read how to wear sun dresses with style and to check out my other finds...

  5. I worry too much about the no chest-support part to venture into sundresses. Especially since turning 35. Seriously, something happened and I do not recognize my body anymore!

  6. Cute dress! I love sundresses too. Not so much on me but definitely on my daughter. That's basically her entire wardrobe this summer!

  7. How I would love to wear a sundress. These tatas however, think otherwise... so capris it is! But I love yours!

  8. Love this sundress, and the green one you also bought. I agree with you, also, about those floor-length dresses that are so popular now. I'm 5'2". Those would make me look utterly ridiculous, and probably 400 pounds.

  9. I love sundresses. I live in fun swingy skirts and flowing sundresses. i covet that dress. We don't have an urban planet here, but I want that dress!!! It is super cute!!

Yipeee. I love those because I can wear them almost all year round. There's only about 3 months when I can't wear them.

  10. I love how you wrote on your other blog about not being to blame it on your age, I *so* get this.

People, please remember that when you are 30 something, short shorts only look good on teenagers, no matter how hot you are or think you are.

    Off soapbox~

  11. Once you become Mom the human napkin fashion takes a back seat.

  12. I love summer for sundresses and skirts with tees. I love winter for bulky sweatshirts. The trend being things that cover rolls and flab well.

  13. Nothing to make you feel fresh and girlie like a sundress. :)

  14. Why do the straps have to be so skinny? They only make my arms look fatter than they already are! :(

  15. I have never been a dress wearing kinda gal, but I think I may try some of these this summer... simply because it's easy. Although, I am way too pasty right now... I need some color first.

  17. I'm always on the hunt for cute dresses, and have seen a couple of lovely ones this year that would be so me, except for the fact that there is NO POINT in me buying any clothes this year! Gah!

  24. OMG, I LOVE this dress so much! Unfortunately, in SF, the days you can wear sundresses are few and far between, but I don't let that stop me...and such a bargain! Thanks for posting!

  25. Those are REALLY cute sundresses. But I so know what you mean.
I'm still buying them, but at 40+ girlie isn't exactly cutting it anymore! Just looks like I'm trying too hard, unfortunately.

And those floor length numbers look oh-so comfy, but I am afraid, very afraid to go there!!!
