One my baby for nearly 11 years, rescued from neglect at five weeks of age and ever since unnaturally attached to, and dependent upon, me.
One my baby for 26 months, plus nine more as part of my body and all of my heart.
One my baby for 26 months, plus nine more as part of my body and all of my heart.

One growing old now and becoming ever-more sedentary and cloying.
One growing up and becoming ever-more active and independent.
One growing up and becoming ever-more active and independent.
One ever patient and passive. One always testing and aggressive.
One hungering for excitement and new experiences. One wishing nothing had ever changed.
And yet each, knowing how much the other is loved, illustrating the art of conciliation and understanding.
Great post. OUr pets surely play such an important part in our lives. :)
ReplyDeleteMy boys, I love that!! Your son is adorable and your cat, beautiful.
ReplyDeleteCute pictures!
ReplyDeleteI love the last photo! How sweet :)
ReplyDeleteaaaaawwwwwww.
ReplyDeleteOh how sweet! Both babies are adorable.
ReplyDeleteAwww...that is too adorable. My son loves our dog. He laughs and laughs any time the dog comes around.
ReplyDeleteThat's about how it goes in our house, too! My 18 month old was napping right alongside the cat this afternoon, in fact.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute pix, DMD, they are both gorgeous. And fortunate that they get along :)
ReplyDeleteHeidi
As a cat and kid lover this almost reduced me to tears. That is so sweet and the pictures are so adorable.
ReplyDeleteThe last pic is cute. Wish we have a pet too for my son but staying in an apartment, having pets just isn't too convenient. :(
ReplyDeleteAw - that last pic of kitty looking over at the boy...so sweet!
ReplyDeleteMy Girl wants a kitty so badly. I'm not sure 7 month old puppy would agree.
Cute pictures! We rescued a kitty from the humane society this past summer. She tracks down and pounces on the boys but will cuddle up with me. Pets become such an important part of your family.
ReplyDeleteWow, nice post, with cherished moments.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet.
ReplyDeleteWe got a kitten for our son, because my beloved cat is not a kids' cat (she doesn't scratch or bite, she avoids!)
I love watching my son with our kitten. They are so cute together. They snuggle and play all the time. And the kitten is super patient with all the hair and tail pulling.
Great post!
How sweet! What a beautiful cat!
ReplyDeleteI never understood why people REALLY had pets until I had my own kids and watch how they interact with our dog. I love that they LOVE animals and respect them.
ReplyDeleteSweet pictures.
That was very sweet. Your babies. Great pics too!
ReplyDeleteBrought a tear to my ear. Really. We had a cat that looked just like yours. She passed away a few months after my second child was born. Where you said "One wishing nothing had ever changed." That was our "Baby Cat" - she changed the day my firstborn arrived on the scene.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute post! I love the picture of them laying on their backs.
ReplyDeleteIt is fun to watch our dogs with Porter. One is scared of him, the other protects him.
Aw, how sweet are your babies! I especially love that last photo.
ReplyDeleteThat is an enormous cat! Cute pics!
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I have a hard time balancing the love for my dogs that have been with me for over 10 years, and the love for my kids, who have stolen my heart in four years.
As you know, the love for my kids always wins out, I feel bad for my dogs. But at least now the dogs have twice as many family members to love them. That counts for something, right?
BTW - I have something for you.
Wonderful post! Great photos too! You look stunning in the photo with your two babies, btw!
ReplyDeleteGah! Damn hormones! This post made me really weepy! Is that sad or what? LOL!
that cat is HUGE!!!!!! these pictures crack me up!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI just love those last two pictures. How great is that bond between the two of them now?
ReplyDeleteI love that second picture!
ReplyDeleteAnd man is your cat huge!
Very sweet. My daughter is a beast to my cat (and my dogs) and yet I think the love my cat has for me outweighs the abuse she gets.
ReplyDeleteThis post makes me want to cry. Because I've traveled so much over the past ten years, I don't have any pets. But I grew up with cats and would love to give my daughter the same experience. However, it breaks my heart that they can't live longer. I read somewhere that parrots live to be 80 years old. But does a parrot love you like your cat loves you? Why can't cats live to be 80?
ReplyDeleteWow!What a funny picture... Your cat is bigger than the baby I think! :D
ReplyDeleteGreat post. The fury ones become our babies and always have a special place in our hearts..and then, us, as proud moms get to see how all our kids interact!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
Beautiful. See you soon. Kellan
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! A happy arrangement has been forged. And I am sure both love their Mama!
ReplyDeleteI'm partial to any pet post, but that shot where they are laying next to each other? THAT is the money shot my friend. I love this post!! Our "fur"st child was a cat too (who is sadly somewhat neglected now). =^..^=
ReplyDeletei love the pic of them on their backs! sooo cute! what a sweet post!
ReplyDeleteThat is one enormous cat! Lovely post.
ReplyDeleteI love how the pictures show the growth in both of them :)
ReplyDeleteReally sweet pics and post.. :)
